England Team Departed On The Morning of June 1st and Arrived In Florida That Same Afternoon
On the morning of June 1st (local time), the England team departed from their training center at St. George’s Park, flying from Birmingham to Florida, USA. After a short training camp in Miami to help the players adapt to the North American climate. The entire team will move to their main base in Kansas.
The “Three Lions'” main base is The Inn at Meadowbrook resort, protected by a three-layer security system involving local police, FIFA, and the US Department of Homeland Security. This area is considered a “fortress” to ensure the team’s absolute safety.
Training Grounds Are Available Near The Resort
Along with professional preparations. The English Football Association (FA) is also implementing a strict security plan for the England team under coach Thomas Tuchel throughout the tournament.
Special barriers will be erected around the training ground to prevent outside observation and limit the risk of gathering tactical information. A no-fly zone will also be established around the England team’s accommodation.
Security forces are equipped with modern anti-drone systems. Including detection radar, signal jamming technology, and methods to neutralize unauthorized drones. The team bus will also be escorted on all journeys between the hotel, training ground, and match venues.
Security Forces Have Been Reinforced In Kansas
The increased security measures reflect growing concern about security threats at global sporting events. Besides the usual risks, authorities are also concerned about the possibility of using drones to secretly film or monitor the training activities of the national teams.
During their time in Florida. The England team will hold open training sessions for fans to watch and play two friendly matches against New Zealand and Costa Rica. These are considered important dress rehearsals before the team’s opening group stage match against Croatia on June 17th in Dallas.
Coach Thomas Tuchel said the coaching staff is particularly focused on adapting to the hot and humid weather in North America. A factor that is expected to significantly affect the players’ fitness throughout the tournament.
England Are Strong Contenders For the 2026 World Cup
With a quality squad led by captain Harry Kane. England are considered one of the top contenders for the 2026 World Cup title. Therefore, the FA does not want any non-professional factors to affect the Three Lions’ journey to conquer the world cup.
The 2026 World Cup will be the first World Cup with 48 participating teams and will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The unprecedented scale of the tournament also entails the strictest security requirements in the history of World Cup finals.
